Bruce McCandless’s pioneering spacewalk ‘quite comfortable’

The first person to fly untethered in space, Nasa astronaut Bruce McCandless, has died.

He’s best known for a 1984 photo of him flying above the Earth with a jetpack.

In this archive recording, he describes the sensation of floating above our fast-spinning planet.
